The Sensory University Pencil Weight System is currently being used in schools, therapy facilities, and homes across the nation as a way of improving dozens of handwriting difficulties from poor penmanship to lack of grasping ability due to low tone. Our system unlike any other on the market is adjustable in weight. This allows us to offer many disciplines and are not just limited to a standard 2 oz pencil weight which has been proven to become a dependency over time. Our system comes with 8 individual magnetic disc which can be added or removed based on the desired weight. Each disc weighs 8 grams and can be combined to total roughly 3 ounces. The goal is to begin with the age appropriate weight and and work down one disc per week until improvement is noticed. Each kit comes with 8 disc, 2 sets of weight locks, and a universal grip which may or may not be needed to establish a correct handwriting grasp. Systems fits any standard #2 pencil. Please note that this kit does contain magnets and small parts which should only be used by children over 4 due to choking and ingestion hazards. Never allow user to place magnets in their mouth.
