The matte black model looks good on the iPhone. And it was the only case (of four that I ordered) that had a proper cut out for swiping up for Face ID. That’s huge, because it’s so irritating to run into rubber for such a frequent motion.I tried the Apple rubber case in store, and it is more expensive and I like it less than this case, which is more minimalist and less bulky. The Apple case I’m matte black picked up lint LIKE CRAZY, so that wasn’t a good option.While I like the look of this case, it doesn’t add much in the way of grippiness. Indeed, I might be more likely to drop it than without a case. The plus side is that it won’t catch on your pockets and should provide a smooth entry and exit. It does show oil smudges from fingers within 1 minute of handling it, so it’s not going to look as nice as the naked iPhone. But my iPhone is always face up so that I don’t scratch the screen so at least I won’t be seeing the smudges; others around me will when I hold it.I think I’ll keep this case as my When I Need A Case option and mostly just use the iPhone naked.
