I had high hopes for this utensil set. I bought them for our 7 year old little boy with severe CP. We have used adaptive utensils in the past and had great success but it was time to get more and we thought we'd try these. The color was good, but the angle was not like other adaptive silverware. There was a disfunction that seemed to be the result of the angle of the utensils combined with the structure of the grip. The grip is not cylindrical, it is wide and flat (like the knife pictured) forcing the person to hold it in a bizarre way that made it more difficult to use than regular silverware. It was very frustrating and discouraging for our child. It is so bad that I think they may have been assembled incorrectly (they are not one piece and have a seam). The WORST part of this was that they can not be returned unless they are unused and in original packaging. I understand that the company wouldn't be able to re-sell these but from a consumer's point of view, how are you supposed to know if they work for you if you can't open the packaging or try it out? The product looked to be high quality besides the angle/handle issue but I will not buy from this company again. I can't even give these away to another child- I have to throw these in the trash because they are useless! Don't buy these if other adaptive utensils have been helpful because these are very different. And don't buy these unless you are prepared to literally throw $25 in the trash.
