I actually use these as work gloves. Most brands don't last a day this pair is about a month in with only minor wear so far. Already they've lasted twice as long as the toughest glove I've used and these have more dexterity than all of them. I've been through everything at the home improvement stores half the Mechanix line it all falls apart in 1-5 days. I think I might be sticking with hestra going forward.Pros:-Very water resistant, especially after applying leather balm.-Very dexterous; I can even use them to type.-The quality is excellent.Cons:-Not warm; work as a standalone glove only down to ~30 to 40 degrees F.-When they say it is an 'active' glove, they really do mean it. You must be running at a medium-hard pace to get any use out of these. In my experience, they don't work for shoveling, hiking, or snowshoeing.Conclusion:-For this price range, I would suggest looking into Arc'teryx or other quality Canadian brands. (Hestra is based in Stockholm, which does not see the same temperatures as Canada/northern US states.)Best fitting gloves I have ever bought! Follow the size chart. Highly recommended!Third pair different from Hestra all wear greatGreat work glove.I live on a farm and have been looking for a pair of work gloves that are thin enough to enable me to do chores that require some hand dexterity yet also warm enough for cold weather use. I read a very positive review of these in Outdoor Magazine (I think) and have found them to be as good as the review stated. Great finger dexterity, yet warm enough for high teens, low twenties. Great gloves!!Great for the tour up!I so very much wanted to love these gloves, so it comes with a heavy heart to return them.I was in the market for a specific set of gloves with two criteria: warmth and dexterity; however, it appears that these two are mutually exclusive. Unfortunately, you can't have one without compromising the other. I wanted them as my regular go-to set of gloves -- commuting to work, walking the dog, etc -- and after doing some research, the Hestra Ergo Grip Active Gloves seemed like the perfect fit (no pun intended)When I first opened them, I was in awe of the aesthetic of these gloves; a soft lamb skin on the palm, a wind resistant fabric on the back of the hand. They are beautiful, and Hestra is known for the quality of their materials and their attention to detail. I also liked the ergonomic factor of these gloves, as your hand is forced to stay in a "claw" like position. I was so excited to try them out.On a relatively cold winter day (30 degrees F), I put these gloves to use. Within 15 minutes, my fingers were absolutely cold. Sure, they could move around and they were nimble, but I found myself frustrated by the lack of insulation from these gloves. First off, there is a soft, albeit thin, fabric lining in these gloves; secondly, the outer layer is a soft, also thin, lamb skin and synthetic fabric. Thin lining...thin outer layer... of course these gloves aren't going to warm!Yesterday, it was 16 degrees F in DC, and I wore them yet again (I'm an optimist). That was the nail on the coffin for me. I've decided to send them back, and perhaps get a more functional (i.e. warm) set of gloves. Sure my fingers may not be able to move as much, but hey, at least I won't get frostbite.Great gloves, measurement from the web makes sure they fit just rightFantastic quality. Be sure to wax them regularly to prolong lifespan. Sitzt angenehm.Best lightweight, cool weather glove I've ever owned. Perfect for skiing and snowshoeing in temps just above to just below the freezing point. Excellent dexterity, water repellency and quality materials.Schnelle Lieferung, die Qualität und Passgenauigkeit ist gar Wunderbar. Einmal Hestra, immer wieder. DANKE
